BeeCraft Book Review September 2015. by Margaret Cowley.
Buzzing with Ideas
Don refers to himself as a novice who has been keeping bees for five years. His book reflects his relative inexperience and reminds us all that beginners make mistakes from which they can learn! He confesses to having a bias towards the WBC hive, for which he makes no apology. Whenever he is confronted with deficiencies in its design, he sets out to correct them. His book is written in a light-hearted manner. As he explains, you will need to read other books about the life cycle of bees and all the boring stuff. The book's 128 pages are packed with colour photographs which illustrate the points he makes nicely. To give a flavour of this amusing book, chapters include - From the start - The inventor - First steps - Join the club - Ideal home - Annoyances - Sticky stuff - Artificial swarming - Uniting.
