Our bird boxes made from Western Red Cedar, the most popular timber for bird boxes.
 
It’s also (in our opinion) the BEST engineered nesting box on the market with groove joints for weather proofing and easy assembly. It is NOT a homemade DIY item but a quality product that will give years of service
 
The box is:

• Is pre-drilled to 25/32/38mm (currently we do NOT have 28mm)
• Made from WRC, so no need to paint or treat and will last many years
• Once screwed together, will give maximum rigidity and endurance
• Dimensions: 140mm x 210mm x 140mm deep (aprox)
• Made from 16mm thick timber giving better insulation for the birds from the weather.
• The front tilts forward for easy cleaning

Supplied flat ready for self assembly.

An ideal time to put up nesting boxes is late winter early spring, giving the birds plenty of time to get used to their new home.

ENTRANCE HOLE CHART

These nesting boxes are made from western Red cedar originally destined to make our hives.
Western Red Cedar has a tight straight grain with few knots and valued for its high natural resistance to decay. This weather-resistant property is due to 'Thujaplicin', which is a chemical substance, found in the tree. It serves as a natural fungicide, thereby preventing the wood from rotting. This property ensures that Western Red Cedar products will last far longer than other timbers outside. It also means that the timber will not require treatment with preservatives or paint.
